| Cal was born in St. Louis, Missouri on Feb. 3, 1947. He attended Albany, Ga. High School, graduating in 1965.
He played baseball and football and was sports editor of the school newspaper, The Pow Wow.
He attended Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia, graduating in 1970 with a Degree in Social Studies and a Minor in Political Science. He played baseball, edited The Sou' Wester
newspaper, was voted as a "Superlative", served one term as President of the Student Council, and was a charter member of The Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Following college he coached and taught in Albany, Georgia for three years and later moved back to Americus where he was employed for three years at Metalux Lighting Corporation as a regional zone manager.
Then, at the age of 29, he created his own business, Cal Duke & Associates Publishing, which specialized in producing 541 award-winning publications for more than 68 diverse communities over a 41 year stretch of time.

Today, Cal resides on Saint Simons Island, Georgia with his wife, Patty, who also served for 18 years as Vice President of Operations with his company.
The Dukes are active in their church and community. Patty served on the St. Simons/Sea Island Council for the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce
and co-chaired the Leadership Glynn program for the Chamber of Commerce.
Cal is a past member of the Rotary Club of Brunswick, and the Kiwanis Club of Americus. He also has served as a past president of the
Georgia Southwestern State University Alumni Association, the Sumter Historic Preservation Society, the Southland Academy Raider Club, and was he was active in the Kappa Sigma Alumni Association for several years.
The Dukes have five children and six grandchildren, the best dog ever, and a spunky cat! The Dukes also love to travel and frequent their mountain cabin in north Georgia whenever possible.
